Southern California living is synonymous with beach life and for good reason. The sun, sand and shore make for a fabulous beach experience and my children love going to the beach whenever we visit. Huntington beach is one of my personal favorites and has something for everyone. Be it playing on the beach, swimming in the water or eating at Ruby’s diner at the end of the pier – Huntington Beach never disappoints! I must admit that when I see my kids enjoying the beach I do think about how nice it would be for them to have access to this on a more regular basis. It is a reminder of a lifestyle that I cannot provide back in Blighty. However, I am then quickly reminded of all the wonderful experiences that London provides the children that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
Bottom line – having roots in multiple countries does lead to a constant contemplation of the optimal place to reside in. I am sure that many of my readers can also identify with this constant quandary. After much deliberation, my husband and I have come to the conclusion that exposing our tots to a variety of cultures and countries can only be a good thing! Like most things in life, the right place to reside is always a fluid and evolving decision and there is no one correct answer. For now, it’s almost time to go home and the fact that I only have a few PG Tips tea bags left makes returning to England absolutely the right decision!
On this visit to the beach, I wore what I consider an almost fail-proof combination of pale blue and white. As I was not planning to get in the water, I added some lime green tie-up wedges for a pop of colour and dramatic flair. The relaxed silhouettes of the cold-shoulder lace top and soft capris were perfect was a stroll on the beach. Soon, the sunny beach will be a summer memory but looking at these pictures will remind us of the great time we had during the summer of 2016!
As always, thank you for visiting my blog!
