Three-Tiered Lace Pencil Dress: And My New Shopping Guide Services

Happy Wednesday everyone! There are few dress styles that flatter the female form the way a pencil dress does. I generally don’t tend to wear pencil dresses quite simply because I can’t find ones that fit correctly.  Once in a blue moon, however, the dress Gods take a shine to me and I will try on one that will fit perfectly. This three-tiered lace midi pencil dress is gorgeous in every way – I love the colour, the structure, and the length. I normally would give this a pass in the store, but I went out on a limb and tried it on (it helped that it was on sale) – once again proving that the ‘fitting room’ is our friend and we must visit it more often before arriving at a ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ decision! I have paired it with these absolutely beautiful Toraan earrings – these Three Stone Teardrop earrings are so versatile and I can see them working perfectly with Indian and western clothes.

Isha – Shopping Guide Adventure

As many of you are aware, I have been running this blog for over two years now.  Fashion is more than a hobby – it is a passion that I truly enjoy. I am a huge advocate of the British High Street and I always champion their offerings every chance I get. London is one of the greatest shopping experiences on the planet and I am a dedicated fan.

I wanted to announce that I have recently become an Airbnb Experience Host and I will be hosting a shopping/fashion experience called ‘Shopping Tour – Oxford and Regent Street’ on the Airbnb platform.  The link to my experience is below:

https://www.airbnb.co.uk/experiences/156287?euid=10f65107-3fe6-4d39-b02c-fced7e7818a9

What will we do in this shopping experience?

We will take an exciting whistle-stop walking tour of the heart of London’s bustling retail shopping district which includes Oxford Street, Regent Street and Carnaby Street. I will provide guidance on the many big department stores on these streets as well as many of the smaller retailers present. I will discuss in detail what kind of fashion, price points and designers are available in each of the stores we pass. I will also introduce you to some of the smaller shopping gems located off the many sides streets and share special tips that will optimize your shopping experience. If you want to shop these streets but are overwhelmed by the variety – this tour is a great introduction to the what, where and hows of this shopping paradise. This tour will equip you for a more targeted and productive shopping experience during your stay. I am also happy to offer styling advice from a blogger’s perspective as we shop. Are you ready to shop?

So if you fancy a shopping tour or have family and friends visiting who are avid fashionistas and think this is something they would enjoy during their visit to London – then please check out my experience on Airbnb.  More details can be found on the website and I look forward to meeting a lot of new people

If you have any questions or need any further information, feel free to send me a message or an email at sodhiisha1@gmail.com.

I hope you enjoyed this lookbook and thank you for visiting my blog!

Magnificent Munich: Weekend Adventures in Jeans and Lace

Dear Munich,

I am so glad I came to visit you this past weekend.  One of your residents is a great friend of mine.  We met while we were both residing in Mumbai and her friendship and kindness have ensured me a friend for life.  I am lucky that she came back to your arms as it gave me the opportunity to visit.

Over exaggerated praise can sometimes ring hollow, however, superlatives must have a purpose and I intend to employ them diligently. I will start by saying what you must have heard many times before – you are a beautiful city. Your skyline is stunning, the churches and squares majestic and the markets and parks enchanting.

We both know that aesthetic beauty can be found in many a destination but true appreciation hinges on a deeper connection.  Within your magnificent form, there is a calm and serenity that I have rarely encountered in a big city. To praise you, without talking about your culinary delights, would be a grave omission on my part. The beer, especially the wheat beer, surpassed my expectations and I shall find myself scrambling to find your best in London.  The sausages, pretzels and wiener schnitzel were delicious and I have discovered an unexpected fondness for sauverkraut.  Pastry is the secret path to my culinary heart and you had me at Strudel.

I marveled at the architecture and climbing up St. Peters church for the magnificent views from the walkway took away my breath, both figurative and real.  The movement of the tiny platform as the mightly church bells rung stopped my beating heart but I soon recovered with some delicious Weiss beer on terra firma. There is no better feeling as a tourist than when you thoroughly enjoy even what you were not expecting to enchant.  I now understand why BMW World is the most visited attraction in Munich.  Finally, I must state that your Olympic Park built for the 1972 games in the city is an architectural and town planning masterpiece.  I loved the views and walks incorporated within the sporting arenas and would highly recommend it to fellow travellers, especially those with young children.

I came to see you with no particular expectations. I left, looking forward to experiencing your hospitality again, sooner rather than later.  I bought some lebkuchen at the airport to help your memory linger for longer in the recesses of my mind.

Thank you for a lovely weekend!

With love and admiration,

Isha

Festive Dressing Series: Black Lace Dress With a Patterned Bag and Striped Shoes

It is that lovely time of year when festive clothes take over the high street. In every store you enter, there are bright and shiny clothes hanging from the rails like baubles on a Christmas tree.  Going shopping before the holidays is a test of tremendous will power for me.  With my relatively weak resistance to shiny new clothes, I have to often remind myself that I already have a version of something I have just seen in my closet! Then I have to remind myself to concentrate and remember that I am here to shop for other people but I digress…

The one dress that I have seen multiple versions of this season is the black lace dress. They are a giant staple in the party market and are as versatile as they are plentiful.  A black lace dress could easily be the poster child for ‘wear to any event dress’ as they are appropriate for so many occasions, can be dressed up or down and  usually have a longer life span than so many other styles out there.

After successfully talking myself out of a black lace dress earlier this week,  I have used a black lace dress that was already in my closet for this lookbook.  I am a fan of the long unlined lace sleeves and the easy to wear length of this dress. Accessories and shoes are always a game changer and during the festive season I often try to skip the conventional black dress/black shoe pairing and go with shoes and  accessories that contrast/compliment the dress.  I think the juxtaposing of the floral patterned bag and striped shoes add a touch of glamour to the overall styling and work well in making the look more festive. I adore long coats in the winter and this long double-breasted black coat makes for a great staple in my winter wardrobe (along with making me feel like a movie detective). I  wanted to add some festive bling to the coat in the form of a sparkly brooch  but I did not own one.  Therefore, I have utilized the creative part of my brain and taken a pair of sturdy earrings I own with flat backs and worn them as a brooch.

Below, are some full sleeve black lace dresses  and striped shoes that I like the look of.  I hope you enjoy the styling and have a great rest of the week!
