I know, almost for a fact, that we have all been there! We have all been gifted or acquired a gift card for a shop that we do not usually shop in and then proceeded never to use it. Sure we make a half-hearted effort to stop by when we are passing that establishment – but there is never enough time or a determined will to find something we like. So we continue to carry the gift card around, bemoaning the fact that we never find anything we like, and the cycle continues.
Well, I have done it! I had a River Island gift card that had been knocking around my bag for ages and I finally spent it right before I went on holiday. I walked into the store and it must have been my day because I spotted this dress immediately. I love the combination of the pleats and polka dots in an easy to wear swing cut. It’s an ‘easy to wear’ dress that works great with flats during the day, heels at night and soon tights and boots in the upcoming winter months. It also has full sleeves so it can accommodate many a layer underneath.
Now you may question my rationale for taking a full sleeves dress to Miami in the summer but hey – it was new so it had to be done. For it’s US outing, I had paired it with my trusted pair of low heels (perfect for holidays) and some dangly earrings.
It was a windy (hurricane expected) evening when I took these pictures so they are my first set of night pictures. I hope you like this lookbook and as always, thank you for reading Isha’s Verdict.

Happy Tuesday everyone! We are all aware that women come in various natural shapes (so natural that many are fruit-based such as pear and apple) and there are many guides available on how to best dress to enhance your personal shape and form.
In my opinion, there are a variety of styling tips and techniques that really do work in helping to showcase our individual body shape in the most flattering way possible. The most important lesson I have learned over the years is that learning what not to wear is even more important than figuring out what to wear. Certain styles are completely unforgiving on certain body shapes and once you can figure out what does not work – you are more than halfway there!
The good news is that certain shapes work well on most body shapes and the swing dress is one of them. There is a uniquely feminine quality about a dress that moves with ease around your body and the swing dress is one of my all-time favourites.
I love the bold floral print on this dress and orange and blue is a great winter combination. The orange crop coat provides balance to the swing and the vivid pop of colour helps the outfit truly standout. I am a huge fan of this beautiful leather satchel and the leather only seems to get better with age and wear. I wasn’t sure how often I would wear blue suede boots and an orange coat when I bought these items, however, I am constantly astounded by how easy it is to incorporate colour into my winter wardrobe now that I am making an effort to do so.
I hope you enjoy this styling and thank you so much for reading my blog. Have a great week ahead!

You know when you have so many different things to do that you find it hard to concentrate on one task because half your mind is on the next task and half is wondering what to cook for dinner and the other half is hoping the ‘United’ passenger is OK – making you have a one and a half mind that is still not functioning as well as just one mind should! I blame it on Easter break and having the children at home; if I have to ask them to shut the fridge door one more time I will lose my entire one and a half mind in one go.
Nevertheless, even when all my synapses are firing haphazardlessly, there is always time to talk about clothes. I love this easy breezy dress and can see myself wearing it all summer long. It lends itself so effortlessly to a bohemian look and gives me another opportunity to use my Delhi Khan Market vacation purchase fringe bag to great effect. I have lookbooked this bag previously in this post (Mirror Work ‘Jhola’ Bag: Vacation Finds With Everyday Wear) and to my delight I am discovering just how versatile it is.
I hope you enjoy this look and have a great rest of the week. Thank you so much for stopping by!
